Brief Description:  Preparing for Landing Lights

I cut one of the cardstock templates and traced the outline 3 times onto a piece of 1" x 8" poplar I have. That is shown in Image 1. I will cut out and sand 3 pieces to ensure that I get two useable shapes. My template has a v-groove to help me locate the zero reference on each piece of wood. Images 2 and 3 show me using my saber saw to cut out the leading edge shapes, I tried to cut fairly close to the line without actually touching the line to minimize the amount of wood I have to sand away. After cutting the three shapes out I lined them up using the zero ref line and clamped them together so I could use my drill press to drill two holes through all three and then use some 2 1/2 inch wood screws to fasten them together. I want all three firmly attached when I sand them on my disk sander so that they will all be the same - or as close to the same as I can make them.
