Brief Description:  Preparing for the Stall Warning Kit

With a good start on the replacement stall warning sensor bracket assembly I decided that I needed to build up the switch and adjustment bracket to see which pivot and slot I want to use - the top mounted bracket half or the bottom mounted bracket half. I think I mentioned earlier that the switch mounting bracket supplied in the Stall Warning Kit did not match the drawings supplied and had no provisions for the linear nutplates to be fastened to it so I got some smaller corner style nutplates. I bought a small quantity of nutplates from Tina's Pilot Shop (the only ones I could find that would sell me less than 25 nutplates for a reasonable price) and the nutplate drill guide from Aircraft Tool Supply. In the process of drilling the switch mounting bracket for attachment of the corner style nutplates I drilled the attach holes for one nutplate too close to the edge of the adjustment slot. So I called Van's and ordered a new switch mounting bracket and a 2" x 3" x 0.063" thick piece of aluminum stock. When they arrived I discovered that the new switch mounting bracket now matched the drawings and had provisions for the linear nutplates.
