I worked on the fiberglass cabin hinge covers I made yesterday and after about an hour decided to change to .025 aluminum. I cut a section of bracket material that Bill TIG welded the other day and installed nut plates on them. I then set them in a bed of JB Weld 2 part epoxy. I tested a piece yesterday and was very satisfied with the grip it provides. I then made a cover plate and used my hole locator to locate the two screw holes. After drilling and dimpling them.. I tested the part for fit. Once satisfied, I notched the vertical lip to clear the hinge and shim. One of four done.
