After hours of research, comparing the settings of my fellow RV10 builders with IO540 Engines, I created a chart of initial settings for my initial flight. These will be tweaked over time as no two engines/pilots are the same. After creating the table, I input the data in the Primary Flight Display (PFD). I also established my initial V speeds. These will appear on the PFD tape (photo) when the appropriate speed range is achieved. V(r) = Rotate Speed is set at 65KIAS. V(x) = Best Angle is set at 78KIAS. V(y) = Best Rate is set at 85KIAS. V(a) = Maneuver Speed is set at 125 KIAS. Next I changed two white wires locations on my elevator trim servo motor (photo) aligning the trim direction with the top-hat direction. Pushing the Elevator top-hat trim switch forward will push the nose down and pulling the Elevator top-hat trim switch back will raise the nose.
