Brief Description:  Window joint treatment

I sanded the GFlex (#80) that filled in the low spots of the Lord Adhesive removing all that was on my windscreen leaving a nice, flat surface for the two layers of fiberglass. Next I blew off with an air hose, wiped down with alcohol and after it had completely evaporated, used a propane torch to oxidize the plexiglass to improve adhesion. According to West Systems, you are to move a flame across the glass at a rate of about 12" a second...which is enough to oxidize the surface. I mixed 40 grams total of GFlex and laid up the two vertical sides staggering two 3/4" pieces of BID fiberglass. On the cabin top, the seam is a wee bit wider, so I staggered two 1" pieces if BID fiberglass. Once set, the glass was rolled to remove any air bubbles and covered with Clean Peal. I decided not to tint the GFlex so I could see the joint until it gets painted.
