With the door portion of the retrofit complete, I started on the inner mechanism. I shortened WD-1002 handle to 2.2520" by removing .820 from the handle end. The C1007 pins were also shortened by .861", leaving the pin 2.22" in length. After cutting and sanding the parts to size, I polished all the mating parts so they work well together. Using a file, I increased the pin opening in the C1006 handle plate assembly to 1.00". This is required to accept the new one inch roll pin used in the assembly. All the parts were assembled (without the inner gear rods) and tested. I ended up with very smooth action. I then added the lock and adjusted the locking flag for a very close fit. All good. Knowing that all this works well together will make troubleshooting the next phase easy. Next I plan to install the geared bars.
