Brief Description:  Fitting Infinity grip

The task today was to mount the control grips on the pilot and co-pilot stick. To get a good idea of how they would feel, I installed the pilot seat rails and seat and sat for a spell. The pilot flys with his left hand, leaving his right for the throttle/mixture and radio stack. Some builders mount the control straight forward, which did not feel comfortable at all to me. Others, have mounted them as much as 45° to the left, which felt great, but also seemed awkward for the times I was to fly with my right hand. I settled on 22° index left for the pilot and 22° right index for the co-pilot. This angle felt great and was not too bad flying off handed. I cut my control stick down as far as I could, leaving enough room for the securing spacer. This was the general consensus of the RV10 builders. This gave you clearance so the grip did not hit the panel. Next I plan to add a D-Sub to the stick so I can remove it later for service work.
