Brief Description:  XM/GPS, GPS Antenna mounting

The area aft of the cargo cay bulkhead where the two antennas are being mounted is flat so I removed the upper fuselage skin and after applying a little dielectric grease, I back riveted the doublers in place. The location of the ELT antenna is already fastened, and has a little curve and the doubler is shaped to match the curve. I added some dielectric grease and flush riveted the double in place using rivet tape to protect the surface. Once the doublers were in place and the skin reattached with clecoes, I installed BNC and TNC connectors and hooked up the antennas. The ELT came with a pre made antenna cable, but was too short for my application, so I made one from some RG400. It too was installed and connected to the ELT. Next I installed a 4 pin molex to a shielded, three conductor 20 gage wire. One end was labeled and attached to the OAT, and the other end was ran to the right wing root. I also added the shielded 3 conductor 20 gage wire from the left wing root to P1. This is for the NAV POSITION/STROBE light.
