There are five rivets that are impossible to set on the firewall because of interference from the engine mounts. I decided to re-dimple them to accept a #6 SS screw and added a nut plate on the supporting glare screen ribs. Next I traced a line around the center wind screen support and removed some of the aluminum under it. This will allow me to run RG400 antenna wire straight up from the panel to the overhead compartment if I want. I am not sure so it was much better to do it now then wish I did it later. I then sat the wind screen on the top and marked its approximate location. Then I scuffed the top of the glare screen that will be inside and primed it with Akzo Nobel, two part epoxy primer. I also primed the glare screen fan doublers I made the other day.
