I trimmed and finished the 4" long x 1/16" wide flox/epoxy/resin cowling extension. I see the benefit of sanding the mating surface to 60° making a much greater surface in which to bond. After fitting the cowling, it was removed again and given a thin coat of epoxy/resin to seal all the pin holes and preventing any oil from soaking into the fiberglass.
