Brief Description: Aux Air Inlet proseal with nut plates
More work on the air box today. I finished drilled and dimpled the mixture arm clearance plate to the air box top plate, reassembled and did one final test with the mixture cable. Since I achieved my 1/8" clearance throughout the whole range of motion, I started to assemble the auxiliary air inlet door. Vans recommends using Pro-Seal on the rivets inside the air filter perimeter. If one came loose, I would be sucked into the engine. I decided to Pro-Seal all rivets and nut plates inside the air box just to be sure. Cheap Insurance. Before installing the auxiliary air door ring, I applied Pro-Seal to it and the inner doubler ring. I used AN426-3-4 solid rivets and back riveted the ring. The door slides great. Next I plan to assemble the rest of the air box.
