Brief Description: More air seal fabric on baffles
Wanted to finish the baffles in October...not going to happen :(. Today I worked on the right air ramp air seal fabric (ASF) and clamping strip. After making many paper templates, I found one that fit well and copied it over to the ASF. The clamping strip was formed using the opening it will be fastened to. I spaced the strip with scrap rubber and drilled it. While the plans called for three evenly spaced fasteners, I found that a forth fastener helped the clamping strip on the prop side. Next the ASF was inserted and match drilled. I reinstalled the lower cowling and marked where the strips needed to be trimmed. It fit very well. I drilled out the fastening holes to a #27 deburred, roughed with scotch bright, alumipreped and alodined the strip. When it was dry, I roughed up the rubber where it was to be chemically bonded to the clamping strip. I covered both surfaces with PLIOBOND25 (rubber cement) and reassembled the unit giving it cure time.
