More work on the left main wheel fairing. I fit the fairing around the lower gear leg and leveled the fairing using a mark made on the front/rear yesterday. After a rough fit I made it parallel to the fuselage. I placed a plumb bob on the center of the firewall and one on the aft tie down ring and snapped a line to use as a reference. Once the fairing was level front to back and parallel to the fuselage, I drilled four holes in the fairing support and threaded them with a 6/32 tap. These threads will be used to hold the fairing in place while some flox sets up...and then they will be drilled out and nut plates installed. The holes were reinforced with 2 layers of BID fiberglass and covered with clean peel. Tomorrow, I will redrill these #36 size holes with a #27 bit.
