Brief Description:  Cowling vent

I finished the air inlet ramps by adding a fairing compound and sanding them smooth. I also got the lower cowling holes chamfered for the rivets. While I am still waiting for my side mounted RV10 hinge keeper, I decided to start work on the lower louvers. After laying out the vent holes, I started and ended each vent with a 13/16" holes and then just removed the material between them. After touching each opening with sand paper, they looked great. I finished manufacturing the plates and the final step before alumiprep and alodine was to bend the louvers to a 45° angle. I finished the day by chemically treating the parts and I will let them dry over night. Tomorrow I will do the final assembly. Because these parts are close to the engine exhaust, I will not paint them. I did spray the louver area with a high temp paint....mainly to get rid of that nasty pink color.
