Brief Description:  Engine installation

My missing Lycoming fasteners showed up this morning so I sent my good friend and fellow builder Bill a text message inviting him to "a hanging". He showed up 20 minutes later with two guide pins. Using the tried and true 2 ton Harbor Freight floor jack (with attached load shifting beam) the engine was lifted and the lower two LORD mounts dropped into place....as did the upper (pilot side) mount. After those three were snugged up, a couple rubber mallet alignment taps on the final mount allowed the guide/bolt to fall into position. Castle nuts were torqued and pinned. I then placed the wheels on 1/4 plate steel automotive movers. Because of their design, each wheel rolls into position easily...and to secure them in the "V" they are turned 90° relative to the tire. Now the fuselage can be easily move around the shop even though it weighs about 450 lbs. more.
