Brief Description: Making brackets to cover door hinges inside
My friend and fellow builder Bill Lane offered to TIG weld some door cover brackets for me. These brackets will be used to support a cover for the hinges. They will be epoxied onto the angular surface of the door hinge opening. I plan to drill and add a nut plate to the brackets. While I will need to make eight brackets, the opening angle is the same on all surfaces....so I had Bill weld a 20" section of 3/4x3/4 2024 and I will custom fit each piece as I go. Thanks Bill. In the photo, Bill is holding the test piece which was cleaned, cut and tested for weld penetration. Great weld.
