Brief Description:  Cabin door hinge pins

Today started with checking on the door skins that were epoxied together yesterday. I am keeping the garage at 68° and giving the doors 48 hours to cure. The leftover epoxy cured in the cup just fine....but with the outside temperature in the 20's I did not want to take any chances. Vans door hinge pin manufacture sizes call for (4) AN3-21 cut to 1.688 in length. While the size is the same, I replaced them with a stainless steel equivalent. I also noticed there was about 0.06 in of gap between the hinge mating surfaces so I have installed two 0.03 washers in each side to center the door hinge on the fuselage hinge until both sides are drilled...and then they will be removed. I took a little time to file some of the weld that interfered with the mating surface movements as well. With the hinges filed and the gaps temporally filled with washers, the hinges are ready to install. I spent the rest of the day getting ready to glue the other door tomorrow morning and doing research on the door latch mechanism.
