Brief Description:  NAV1 Antenna install prep

Before I attach the empennage I want to add a doubler and nut-plates for the Comant CI-157P "V" dipole VOR/ Glide slope which will be my NAV1 antenna. To secure it I removed 12 rivets and made a doubler out of .063 aluminum. Once I receive the antenna, I drill the mounting holes and add nut-plates and rivet it on the inside of the tail section.
Next, I measured and cut my SoundEX 750 insulation which will be installed under the passengers feet. Once cut, I packaged it for installation later. I ordered more insulation from SoundEX and a few electrical tools from Stein Air. I have asked Vans for some input on their basic wiring kit. I would like to get it, but without the circuit breakers because I am leaning toward the VP-400 instead. I also found that the VP-400 supports a dual battery and a dual alternator set up.
