Brief Description: Forward and middle sections joined
Today the fuselage grew to just short of ten feet because the forward and middle sections were permanently riveted together. I placed the forward section on one EAA bench and the middle section on the other EAA bench. I made enough room between them to get a creeper between them to lay on. The two sections were bolted at their respective bulkhead and all bolts were torqued with the appropriate spaces stacked between them. I double checked to make sure all was dimpled and blew off all dust etc. I place the rivets and was ready to rivet when Larry showed up at 10:30. Larry got to "lay down on the job" :) and I bucked the rivets from the top. Went well. After lunch I bolted on the forward fuselage bulkheads, control column mounts, center section side plates and finished the day by riveting the bulkhead side channels to the center section side plates and bottom skin.
