Brief Description:  Duckworth Lights Install

Don't often work saturdays, but with the wife golfing, I took the opportunity to work on the Left wing Duckworth lights some more. I had all the parts manufactured, prepped and painted and ready for final assembly. I made the frame just like the right one but added a little more space on the bracket for the power supply. Because it was moved toward the center, the assembled bracket was easier to install. The temperature was about 55 degrees, so (learning from the last lens I broke during final assembly) I used my heat gun to warm up the lens prior to installing it in the wing. The fit is very tight and you have to bend the lens a little to get it to fit through the opening. If it is cold, it is likely to crack. Warming up the lens makes it less risky when bending it. Well, it worked. The lens fit great and there were no issues during final install. Monday I will start the AOA sensor install and then wire the NAV2 antenna, landing lights and the NS90 Strobe/position lights.
