Brief Description:  Duckworth HID Landing Lights Install

The Duckworth HID leading edge mounted landing lights are not part of the normal build so it takes a little longer to figure out what works well. I assembled the HID electronics on a panel that will be installed in the wing and took it to show my Technical Advisor and get his opinion. All is well. Well, as built, it would not fit in the opening so I had to remove the regulator assembly and remount it on a bracket that was bent 90 degrees..which fit great. I then spent some time making the plexiglass lens for the wing. The right one was complete. When I looked at it... I found a smudge (finger print) on the inside and took the lens off to clean it. When I went to install it... I broke it getting it in place. Rats. I ordered two more. I later learned that when working with plexiglass and you have to bend it to get it positioned...you might want to heat it up to lessen the chance of cracking. Better late then never.
