Scotchbrighted all the ribs, J channel, tank stiffeners, fuel tank skin and misc parts. All parts were then dimpled. After being dimpled, the parts were alumipreped and alodined. I brushed on the alumiprep and alodine on the left tank and it was pretty messy, letting the product leak through to the surface leaving runs. Paint will cover them just fine, but till then it just looks tacky. This time I sprayed the alumiprep and alodine directly onto the skin. Had great results. This is the way I would recommend it.
