Brief Description: Prosealed left fuel tank stiffeners and back rivet
Installed the left fuel tank stiffeners today... there were 14. I needed to keep the rib mating surface clean so I covered it with tape before installing the stiffeners. Each stiffiner was 'buttered' with proseal and then placed on a line of rivets taped through the skin. After pressing in place, the rivets were back riveted. After each stifferer was riveted, I covered each rivet back with some proseal. Vans notified me that the change I want to make in the vent line was acceptable. Though it will still be connected by a bracket, I moved the bracket to the aft side of the fuel fill opening rather then the forward side. It requires a bend, but will be higher in the tank.
