Well, today I finished up the strut attach brackets for the Right wing as well as the wingtip rib support braces. Two days ago, I cleaned up all the old Hysol and prepped the surface. However, with the wife coming home from her trip with her sister, I decided to wait. So, this AM I cleaned and re-sanded the surface a and washed the spars down well and mixed up the Hysol and installed the attach brackets. Hysol has to be the messiest epoxy ever invented. Man what mess it makes. I went through almost the remainder of the Acetone we have cleaning up the work area, the spars and brackets, the tools and myself. They ar enow installed and the spar stiffeners are locked in place as well.
Hopefully, we can get everything cleaned up and prepped for aileron and flap build in the next couple of days. I don't want to rush it. I have to get everything cleaned sorted and all the tools put back where they belong before we start on them. The last item short of the control pulleys and fuel fittings in the tanks will be sealing the wood on the completed wings with several coats of varnish. Once we get the flaps and ailerons completed and installed, its off to the hanger and hang the wings. Looking forward to getting back to work on the fuselage.
