Brief Description:  Aileron

Finished the epoxy work on the non hinge areas of the rib to spar areas. Now I have to wait three hours for the Hysol to flash before I can smooth it all out. Hysol is a messy job. I know, I've said it before but, It is! It is very time consuming and a real pain to clean up. Application is a pain as well. You have to use a zip lock to do a good job. Even then it is still very messy. Getting a good fillet is the hardest and most important part. You get the best strength with a good fillet to avoid high stress zones in a structural application. Smoothing it out after it flashes is the only time you can get it right.

While I was waiting (I still am at this writing), I rough cut the right wing flap stop. I will wait to finish it once I have the hinge brackets riveted in place and the hinges aligned and epoxied and riveted before I mark its final shape and position. Once I get everything in place and fixed I can clamp the flap in the closed position and mark clamp and drill the stop. I have not riveted the left flap stop yet. We will do that once we get the wings hung on the airframe.
