Brief Description:  Aileron (Rt)

Today I epoxied the spa and ribs (partial at least). I can only epoxy the sections where the hinges and control arm do not attach. Those areas are done when they are installed. Anyway, the areas were prepped by sanding with 320 grit paper wiped down and cleaned with acetone. Then I had to mic the ends to ensure they were even prior to applying the Hysol. All the ribs are square, centered and epoxied in place. I only had one rib on this control surface that was not warped (sloppily made at the factory). It was not enough to disassemble and rebuild. That was fortunate. I had to clamp it in place and will spray it with a water bottle over the next few days to pull it back to square after the Hysol cures. Once it is straight, I will varnish it and it should stay correct. Rocky Mountain wings tells you in the manual in several places not to sand the rib cap strips. I will heed that warning. Now just waiting for the Hysol to flash so I can smooth it out and clean up any messy areas.
