Brief Description:  Ailerons Continued

We spent about 1.0 hrs aligning and rechecking the aileron ribs in relation to the wing and the drawings, and tacking them in place on the spar. We are adding the time from yesterday to today's work since I did not take any photos or enter the work into the log.

We set up jig blocks and tacked the ribs yesterday and today we removed the jig blocks and took careful measurements to ensure the flap was symmetrical. We also trimmed up and crimped the edges of the trailing edge material. This will ensure the covering will flow nice a smooth over the joints when covering begins. I took some thin sheet plastic, inserted it into the trailing edge and mixed up some epoxy and filled the cavity. When the epoxy cures, I will cut a section and use this section to aid in shaping the rear of the ribs to fit the trailing edge. The ribs have to fit snug and flush to the inside of the trailing edge. I will let tou know how that little brain spark turns out. I hope it works because I hate waste the epoxy and need some sort of guide to help me shape the ribs to fit correctly. Neither of us are sculptors, With this, we can have an accurate shape to work towards. Tomorrow will tell.
