Brief Description:  Thoughts on a partnership build

Just wanted to throw out a few thoughts to consider if you are planning on a build with a partner.

For the most part, having a partner on a project is a great way to go. Expenses are halved, the build usually goes faster with two people performing the necessary tasks. Both will learn different ways of doing things and differing perspectives from each other help keep safety and quality in check. Getitdoneitist is kept where it belongs. Locked in a cage! However, if one or more of the partnership works or has other commitments, your build can and will slow down to a crawl.

With our project, there are several times of the year when neither of us can work on our build and our time management is critical. Our last log entry was the end of May. Not much has been accomplished on our project since that last entry. Since then, Carroll has successfully finishing up his Private Pilot ticket and I was on a week vacation with the wife. Once I returned, Carroll had to go out of town on business for a few weeks. We are at a critical point in our build were both of us need to be present. We will have to wait two more weeks. I'll use it well. So, I just want to warn you, that frustration will gnaw at you from time to time. Accept it and keep at it. That down time will help your project be better in the end.

Just remember, things will not always go as you had hoped. You will make mistakes. Sometimes small ones, sometimes big ones. You will find yourselves out of sync while working on your project. Accept it! Use that time not actively turning wrenches to review what you have done. You might find you want to correct something that is just not quite right. Or, you might use that time not actively working, by planning in your head the next several steps. You just might solve some nagging step you read about that, with a little thought, the answer will pop up like a light bulb over your head. Those moments put a smile on your face. Lastly, remember that you may not be physically working but, a proper mindset will help
