Finished the foam cutter today. I decided to install the power supply enclosure into a larger enclosure itself to allow storage of the power and cutter cables. Decided on a small starage containerfrom Lowes aircraft supply. I then cut some surplus styrene to fit inside along with an aluminum support ring riveted in place then marked and cutout the openings for the on off and standby switches as well as the banana jack binding posts and LED lights. In addition, I had to mark and cut out the openings for the power cord and fan exhaust. It came out ok and works well.
I made the cutting wand from some scrap lumber I had and it is now ready to use on the aileron and flap leading edge material. We will wait and do both control surfaces together once the flaps are complete. We still have to decide if we are going to lay up the carbon fiber on the control surfaces themselves or makde a mold and lay it up in the mold.
