Brief Description:  Nit pick completion day.

Today was nit pick day. We had several small jobs to complete today and finally got to them. First we cleaned, primed and painted the cable keepers. Those were a nagging little job that had to be done but kept getting put off to complete the big jobs.

We were able to fit he flap stop on the right wing and also to fit and install the backing for the flap bearing (nylon sheet for the trailing edge and the leading edge of the flap. The design pulls the flap forward and needs to be kept even) The nuts for the 4-40 x 1/2” machine screws had to be hysoled in place. We had to notch the backing plate to accept the nuts and align them before epoxying them in place. We have one hell of a mess in the shop to clean up with so much going on at one time.

Anyway, we had to make a negative and positive form to mold the nylon to the shape of the leading edge of the flap. Worked out rather well. Once we get the flap and wing covered they nylon will be adhered to the trailing and leading edge of the wing and flap respectively. Then it will be screwed to both to stay in place to keep the flap from being pulled into the trailing edge and keep the proper gap as show in the plans. The return spring seems to be a stiff one. Seems like a poor design but, the solution we came up with works rather well.
