Back to work today. We worked together getting the flap hinges installed. Using the alignment tool we made when rebuilding the left wing, we made quick work of aligning the right flap hinges. After checking and rechecking more than a dozen times,
Carroll drilled and clecoed the hinges in place. We then disassembled everything, deburred and prepped the spar and hinges before mixing the Hysol. We then cleaned all the surfaces and dry fitted prior to applying the epoxy and riveting them in place. We had to grind out epoxy on one of the reinforcements because it was in the way of the rivet gun getting a flush fit on one rivet. Once moved out of the way, we pulled all the rivets and filled all the areas that were not epoxied around the spar hinge mating area and re-epoxied the reinforcement back in place. So, once again we play the waiting game while the epoxy cures. Time to prep the Aileron. See ya tomorrow!
