Using a 4 ft straight edge I located the low points on the trailing edge that were not even with the wing ribs. I guess most people would not think to keep that area even and symmetrical, but we want this wing to give us its best performance.
So, we are filling these low areas with light weight body filler. To keep from wasting too much filler and spending an exorbitant amount of time on the process, I used a piece of hardwood as a straight edge and wrapped it in plastic. This will keep the filler form sticking to the board and also alow us to have a demarcation line in the filler once it is cured. This tells us how much needs to be removed since we will apply more than necessary during the application. Once that level is determined, we will file the majority of it off before sanding and blending into the rib cap itself.
M Light weight filler.
First Application.
The line is apparent now that the board is removed after cure.
