Brief Description:  Trailing Edge

(Post Correction- photos attached now)

After spending nine days replacing the sails on Carroll's Challenger II (99% complete, but held up by $3.41 parts), I took some time to fabricate reinforcements for the trailing edge. The plans call for the trailing edge sheet material to be epoxied to the end of each rib. However, it seems to be highly flimsy in this area. So, I cut out 124 small reinforcement strips to be epoxied vertically inside the trailing edge to make this area stronger. Since the flaps and ailerons will be stressing this area, a , little beefing up will help. I have no working camera at the moment. So I will post pictures later.

We hope to be back to working full time on this project next week since the wives will be out of town. We have to finish the Challenger and get it back to the hanger before we can begin. I want to be ready when we get our tools back here and we can clamp in our straight edges in place to install the reinforcements.
