I had been in touch with Howard Mason our local area AP (Approved Person who is a Licenced Aeronautical Mechanical Engineer delegated through the SAAA (Sport Aircraft Association of Australia) for all you whaffos out there ( Whaffo is a person who says 'what for you build and aeroplane))), to get him lined up for my first stage inspection
This finally took place yesterday, before I continue with the closing up of the areas of the fuselage and empenage components.
This is the first Bushcaddy that Howard has looked at and he was impressed with the size of the aircraft and commented that the construction was similar to that of the Murphy aircraft.
There were no rework orders issued, and I didn't have to beg, plead or bribe, so all in all things are looking up.
Because he had another inspection to do further up the coast, unfortunately he had to keep on the move so I was limited to the amount of brain picking I could get done and he had the perfect excuse to get free from my questions.
We need more guys like Howard who provide their time, expertise and advice so freely, a great asset to our sport aviation interests.
