Brief Description: Assembly of the rear horizontal Stabiliser spar.
Before going any further with the Vert. Stab, the Horizontal rear spar must be installed onto bulkhead PF-07, so today was spent on the assembly of these parts.
I drew a centre line for the spar along the side of the construction table, thus allowing to be able to use clamps etc along table edge.
I assembled the various components after trimming the reinforcing angles.
After a final tripple check of the measurements I drilled the holes right through into the table and inserted the clekos, thus ensuring that the alignment of the spar and centre joining plate did not move.
When mounting the elevator pivot brackets I used thin washers either side of the bearings when bolting the bracket angles together so that I would have just that small amount of "play" when mounting the elevators later.
After drilling the pivot bracket holes out to suit the AN3 bolts, I then made centre punch marks on the different components for easy location on re-assembly, then dismantled, deburred, cleaned and primed all the parts.
