Brief Description: Positioning and attaching the engine mount.
There is nothing in the construction manual and drawings about the engine mount, so I had to work this out on my own.
I had already found that the four AN5-20A bolts required to attach the four corners of the mount to the fire wall were not provided with the kit and had pre-ordered these from Spruce. (not happy)
Similarly, the 3 AN4 bolts I decided to use to attach the centre support section of the mount through the firewall to the cabin brace bracket had not been supplied.
I made up a framework of timber clamped to the cabin structure to support the engine mount, marked the four corner holes and then drilled them one at a time and each time relocating the mount. It took less time than I thought, and a second set of hands would have made this job much easier.
End result, after 4 hours, and much double checking of alignment from every angle, the engine mount had been bolted into place.
