Brief Description: 26 inch Tundra type tires & Axle assemblies
Now getting close to getting this machine onto the wheels , so decited to do something a little different and assembled the 26 inch goodyear Blimp tires onto the rims and bolted the axles onto the undercarriage legs.
I purchased these tires direct from Desser for around $650 each, they are 26/10.5-6, 6 ply smooth tire, normally tubless, however because my rims are not the sealed units, inner tubes are aero classic TU 850-6L
The equivalent Tundra Tires are slightly lighter, can be of larger diameter if wanted, but you'll lose an arm plus a leg buying them (around $2K each).
Used a fair amount of tyre talc around the tubes and put in about 14 psi.
Reading many of the Alaskan Bushman blogs, seems that a good running pressure for these tyres will be between 10 - 12 psi.
