Brief Description:  Learning all about paint & spray guns

At the outset, I was not good at estimating the amount of primer to mix and as a result, wasted more than I should have, then at times found that I had not mixed enough and in the middle of spraying a surface, had to mix more.

I also made the mistake of not being totally organised in the paint shop, so that I could obtain a chemical bond between the primer & top coats. Having applied the primer, I let it dry for more than 48 hours so that I could use 500 grit paper to sand out any blemishes, and this meant that in order to get good adheasion for the top coat, the whole component need the be scuffed.

If applying the top coat after about 1 - 2 hours after the primer, no sanding would be necessary, and a good chemical bond between the coats is possible.

So, after these first few items I changed my tacktics, got more organised and stepped up a level in confidence.
