Brief Description: Into the paint shop at long last
The time has finally arrived to get serious about finished paint scheme and what paint to use.
Over the last few days I moved back into the shed that I had set up more than a year ago for this work. A Day to tidy up the plastic linings & getting organised while all the time still worrying about how to do this final part of the build.
I spent a lot of time talking to paint suppliers and different people in the trade.
I received quotations ranging from $15 K to nearly $30 K to paint the aircraft, but nearly everone wanted the aircraft fully assembled first.
This was going to be a problem, possibly meaning weighing the aircraft both before & after painting, plus numerous other delays, so I decided to do it myself in the shed before final assembly.
