It has taken a much longer time than I would have liked to finally get myself confident about the path ahead for completing the wings.
After running into a dead end getting any reasonable support from the current Kit Supplier and also after getting a final admission from the original aircraft designer that no proof testing had ever been conducted on the L164 wings, I had to make a decission about the path ahead.
The number of unrecorded (and un notified to previous builders) changes to the wing spars and the number of lightening holes that had been removed, along with the 4 recorded wing failures of either C.A.D.I. or BusshCaddy aircraft all combined to start alarm bells ringing in my mind.
As a result of pressure from myself and a group of builders who I had been in contact with, Sean Gilmore made some startling admissions. The first was that the BushCaddy was simply a "re-branded" C.A.D.I. design, which is in total contrast to his claims back in 2009 when two wing failures occurred.
At that time he claimed that the BushCaddy aircraft was not a C.A.D.I. and went to great lengths to get an unfavourable article in a Transport Canada magazine withdrawn, all the while never addressing (and even ignoring the results ) of the very serious Canadian Transport Safety Board investigation report LP096/2009 into the L160 aircraft C-GKDH wing failure.
The second admission was that no load test had ever been conducted on any model BushCaddy wing, only theoretical NASTRAN testing on the R80 model and that all other model wing loadings were "extrapolated" from those calculations supposedly conducted in 1999. The only details of those calculations provided to date are 3 small undated coloured prints from the NASTRAN software without any supporting explanation, calculations, what the different colours mean or reference to any particular model wing.
