Brief Description: Stabiliser attachment and tail end skins.
After fitting the tail end skins on the port side today I then positioned and drilled the attachment bracket for the forward spar of the horizontal stabiliser on the port side.
It was important to assemble the horizontal stabiliser frame components between the rear and forward spars before drilling the forward spar attachment bracket holes into PA 06.
I found that the attachment bracket bolts only just missed the web portion of the PA06 fuselage frame and that fitting the nuts to these bolts was rather difficult, however the strength that resulted was about as good as it gets.
Upon reflection, I could have placed a packer between the forward face of the rear spar and the aft face of PA07 and this would have allowed more space for the forward spar attachment bolts.
