Brief Description: Bellcrank support in rear fuselage
This afternoon the band saw once again came in very handy. It saves a lot of time cutting out curves in the aluminium and trimming short lengths of angle etc.
To make the support angle bracket I started with a legth of 2" X 1" angle square across the fuselage, attached to the lower internal corner stiffeners.
I then re-inforced this with a flat plate attached to the PA-04 frame lower cross member.
Tomorrow I will use plate nuts & AN bolts to enable the assembly be fully dismantled.
The opperation of the pushrods is smooth and no binding or restriction is felt.
I feel that this modification will enhance the usefulness of the cargo bay of the L164 considerably.
I intend to fabricate a floor and false bulkhead just forward of this rear bellcrank to fully enclose the area and prevent any obstruction interfearing with the pushrod operation.
It feels strong and looks right
It is strong and feels right
Some trimming and etch primer & a few bolts will finish this little enhancement!
