Over the past few days whilst working on the fuse framework I have constantly been thinking how the elevator pushrod arrangement could be modified so that it doesn't obstruct the cargo bay area. The pushrod configuration as per the drawings creates the necessity for some sort of protection or cover in the cargo area aft of PA-01 and in so doing would severely restrict the use of the cargo bay. I wanted a flat floor in the cargo bay, so have decided to re-arrange the pushrod so that it runs through the lower section of frames PA-01, PA-02 & PA-03, and thus allow a flat floor level with the bottom of the lower internal corners.
Rear fuse framework stringers now riveted .
All the CR 3212-4-03 countersunk rivets were dipped in Duralac when being fastened.
Decided to make a step in the pushrod just forward of PA-04
