Brief Description:  Fuel Flow test

First we shad to shorten both control sticks as they were both touching various control knobs,ie throttle and fuel cutoff.
Then the rest of the day was donducting the fuel flow test. The first few attemmpts did not go well. After a drive to Brampton to buy a new Fastec fuel pump and installing it,we had much better results.
The test was conducted with the aircraft in a 12.5 degree nose up attitude and one US gallon of fuel in each tank plus the extra fuel that is unusable. We disconnected the fuel line at the carburetor and put it into a measuring device. WE timed how long it took to pump out 1 US gallon of fuel using only the DC powered fuel pump. After the calculations we determined that we exceded the required values with flying coloursFuel flow from the right tank was 23.4 US gallons per hour and the left tank flow was 24 US gallons per hour. Minimumtest results were to be 125% of max power, we attatined 156% and 160% respecitvely. This was using only battery power from the aircraft was was only about 11.5 volts.
