Brief Description:

We removed the left fuel tank for trouble shooting the left fuel gauge not working. It's a good thing we did because we found two other problems with the tank. First the reason the gauge was not working was that the sending unit was not getting a proper ground so we added a ground wire. The two other problems were 1. we had to remove a post inside the tank that was originally used for the inverted floppy fuel pick up. We have elected to not use the inverted fuel pick up so as a consequence, that post was interfering with the float style fuel measuring device. Also we notice a small access panel on the back of the tank that had the original coek seal on it. We removed the cork seal and sealed the access panel with pro seal.
Then a BBQ lunch over at Gary Wolfe's hangar.
Wayne H lent us his 1 gallon measured container so we can go ahead tomorrow with the fuel gauge calibration.
No fuel leaks detected
