Have read in the archive that leaving a lip where the fuselage side joins the strake luggage compartment helps prevent stuff falling out in flight. Others had recommended against LEAVING a lip, as that may compromise the structure when you tape the odd shape. Now that my tapes are normal and cured cut some lips from 3/8" H45 about 10mm high, tapering to nothing forward and fitted with urethane bond, clamped with hot glued plastic packers.
Didn't like the new line in the aft pocket so grafted on another bit
