Brief Description:  Preparation for strake top skin

More general trimming.

Have spent a lot of time pondering the modern trend to placing T-hats on the top of the strake bulkheads. It is almost universal these days, and I have decided I am not going to play and will go, (almost), full plans. Anywhere I can tape I am not using T-hats. Any bulkheads that are only internal to the fuel tank I'm not T-hatting either. Those I do will look a little different to the modern trend. As they are not required in the plans I'm not using BID either, all T-hats will be 1 or 2 x 4oz boat cloth.

Targets:

1 - I don't like the pour foam filled cavity aft of TTE, but rather than a T-hat, I will just tape from the front of the bulkhead overlapping the pour foam by 1"

2 - I can't see how to maintain a straight line between the spar and TTE, so hot glue on a bit of urethane foam to layup a flange to locate it, on both sides.

3 - Need to seal the R57 top on the starboard side, because outboard of that is my smoke oil tank. Plan to stick some urethane on the inboard side, prepare a flox corner on the top, and tape from outboard over the top of the rib over the foam.

4. Hot glue blocks to locate the remainder of the top skin outside the tank. [Timewarp: I later knock most of these off, and trim the top edge more closely to final with my lovely laser as a guide.

Trimmed port fuselage side for the leading edge, hot glued some blocks to the bottom skin to align the leading edge and drilled for cleco.

Topped up the pour foam both sides.
