Brief Description:  Strake table

Reading some other build records I note that the build table suggested in the plans seems to have gone out of fashion, but the extremes they go to to avoid the concept seem less onerous than the table. I can sort of see that the plans table, square to work on each side, will restrict access to a lot of stuff I will want to look at and reach to work. Decide a more-or-less triangular table with two faces would work better. Instead of 3/4" particle board with stringers beneath recommended by the plans I start work on a double sided table with two faces of 1/2" cheap ply separated by 25mm stringers and border. I plan 3 legs on the corners for easy levelling, bolted on the sides, with the levelling bolts I used on the wobbly floor in the old shed in the ends for my regular build tables. These can be bolted on the other way up for the port side. One sheet of 1200 x 2400 ply yeilded both surfaces, the cross braces for the legs and some spare.

Note as I offer it up to the strakes that it will be handy for installing the wing, so it may be useful after the strakes are finished.
