Roused out all foam scraps from the attic and piled on the shed floor.
Found two bits that could fit the templates on my slopey ramp, joined them together with hot glue blocks, and put them aside. Was unable to find another two scraps that would do the job, so found one for the LE and TE, covering all the rudder area, and joined them together with 3 blocks in the middle, cutting them all up with the wire saw to fit.
Trimmed the TE, pondered a bit, then trimmed the tip and root. Removed the patent ramps, and placed the cutting templates on each, marked some nail positions and prepared one block for cutting in case a suitable partner appears due magic.
This may work after all.
