Brief Description:  Aileron hardware CS-50

Spent some deep time considering the CS-50 supplied by CG Products, which are deliberately a bit different to the plans version. The boss on the end is the same, but the shank is longer, 1.1" rather than the plans 0.75". The thread extends into the shank also, by 0.65" rather than stopping in the 0.25" boss. This only leaves 0.45" of unthreaded shank for rivetting, rather than the full 0.75" in the plans. Practically though, the rivets would have to go up the end of the plans version anyhow, to allow room for the end of the end bearing thread.

I switch to metric to ensure my brain is in gear. To allow a 2 x D margin for the 1/8" (3mm) rivet the deepest rivet neets to go 27mm from the end of the boss, 21mm from the start of the tube. Allowing for 1mm between the crossing rivets, the second hole needs to be 23mm from the end of the boss, 17mm from the end of the tube. This will prang up to 2mm of thread, but I don't see any other way to do it safely.

Farted around unproductively with tie down hardware
